i turned the ignition to off....turned it to acc...then pushed the rear demister button 3 times then pushed the lock button on the remote and the doors locked and then the remote didn't do anything but when i turn the ignition to off it just opens the doors and the remote doesnt work at all!

It "might do something but not what you want it to do. Its for smartshield, the EF uses smartlock like the AU1. Totally different thing.

AU1 uses the Smartlock remote. That will work. AuII III and BA I and II will not work.
HOWEVER Does anyone know that you can lock and Falcon, focus, fiesta with whatever Tibbe keys you want??? I can lock mum and dads car with the key for the Fiesta... and likewise their keys to mine!! very cool mr King.... |

There's at least three other threads on programming remotes if you do a search. And it's been in the owner's manual since day one, if you still have it!

turn the key to ignition, press the boot release button on your dash 3 times quickly, and then press the button on the remote you want to program. your door locks should go up and down when its registered you have pressed the button... repeat this for the other button...
when you take the key out, the door locks will go up and down again a few times...
