That's just insane. They should have stopped at 'Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit'. I just don't understand why they keep making it. EA for me, have lost so much reputation. They keep spitting out sequels to already good games with MINOR differences between them (an obvious attempt at money grabbing). Another good example of this is Tiger Woods PGA. Look at the game from 06, to 07 then to 08. Same game, with a few minor tweaks and adjustments!

I hated EA Games when they bought out Westwood and screwed up the Command and Conquer series, also when they ruined their own series and made NFS:Underground. I've said it a billion times and I'm going to say it again, the LAST good Need for Speed game was HOT PURSUIT 2. EA Sports is the same as you mentioned.

Madden 1989 on Commodore 64 is the same as Madden 2009, same thing just updated graphics, updated teams/player lists but released 20 years later. I BET that Madden 09 or other 09 sports games from EA Sports is running on the same game engine as Madden 03/Generics sport title 03 just with some improvements. I'll bet good money on that, you know why I would? Command and Conquer 3 (2007) and Red Alert 3 (2008) are both on the Command and Conquer Generals engine (2003) but with modifications to make it look pretty and add in some slight features.

I wish everyone would see the light, the only people who play NFS are 12 year olds who think its a new game. NFS has been a money hungry whore ever since Underground, the basic principle of NFS doesn't even EXIST anymore! It used to be get in a car, run away from the cops. Now its do up some Japanese cars, insert crappy FMVs with bad acting and race against your stereotypical street racers, cops are an afterthought.

There is my rage at EA Games.

As long as there is a market for it and a newer console being released, they will keep making them.

Hot Pursuit was good in its day but Underground+Underground 2 set a whole new level for the game with free roaming and etc. I have enjoyed all the NFS' games but I do admit Pro Street was crap.

Buy GTR2 for around $10-$15 then download and apply the 'MMMV8Supercar' mod. It opens up a whole new V8 super car game in GTR2.

Its the best Aussie V8 supercar game I have played in my life. The sweetest thing about it, is that you can race other people over the net in the supercar races and championships! Pretty fun!

I've always found the MMM mod laggy. I've got the V8 Supercar mod for rfactor and prefer it. It's also easier to update liveries etc.

I will admit, Iv got NFS Undercover on PS3, and with the right stuff backing up the PS3, it does look pretty. It may be a rice boy's wet dream, but there's american muscle and euro trash making quota. Cops chase ya, theres missions, side missions, and like sand box games, theres the ability to just cruise. Alot of its, pretty much trying to get away from cops. And its crazy when you've got a world to explore.

As much as I'll critise the launch of another title, but really, when you own a console, you usually try to atleast grab atleast one title from the major genres, eg. racing, fighting, fps, etc.

The original NFS Underground is a classic in my view. It was fresh for its time, fitted perfectly with the rise of tuner culture, thanks to a little movie franchise. And made the makers of Midnight club pick their game up and bang out MNCIIIub Edition.

And it taught many young men how to " drift " yo.

Unless it gets extremely good reviews i'll be sticking to Forza 2 on the 360 untill number 3 comes out.

NFS Shift is only 1 of 4 Need for speed games that are currently in development.... EA should be giving need for speed games a break but instead they decided to develop more of them a year.....

For ppl with a 360 who are into racing games I highly recommend race driver pro, this game is hard and more realistic than forza 2.

I am ahuge fan, well was. It is becoming ridiculous now, the last 3 were rubbish, undercover is the most glitchy game I have ever played. I will rent but not buy NFS games anymore.

High stakes lol
I reckon Porsche Unleashed (on PC) was the best overall game. NFS 3 was my fav, with the EL GT and VT Clubsport.

I don't think this is a case of being money hungry. Who wants to buy 'Tiger woods Golf 2007' in the year 2009. They're going to print the same game for a long period of time regardless. It just seems that if people are going to pay $80+ for a game, it might as well be the most modern up-to-date product out there, so thats what the game developers are doing.

NFS:HP2 has a Ford TS50 and a Holden Monaro in it, therefore making it "awsumester". The soundtrack on it is pretty good too.

With EA Games, everything they do is a money grab, 90% of their games are crappy, you can finish them in 1 sitting, poor quality, glitchy etc.

What ****es me off about Undercover is the graphics aren't any better than Most Wanted but it's a lot more resource heavy. It's quite laggy on my computer, and I fail to see the reason why! If there was a noticable improvement in graphics, I'd understand but NO. There isn't!

Wouldn't surprise me if its the same game engine, Most Wanted and Carbon are on the same game engine, they probably kept the same engine, added in some crappily programmed extra "features", upped the poly count on the models and chucked a few new cars in, created a few maps and chucked them in. Its EA Games man, after having letdown after letdown you'll eventually get used to it. They've got 2 teams working on the NFS series, so they release one every year. Each team has a roughly 2 year time period to churn out a game, 2 years is quite rushed as well.

hmm they were selling undercover for 50 dollars the day it came out, ps2/ps3

i think unless it takes a complete uturn and ****es off the whole rice/tuner stuff and become more likt gran turismo while retaining the race dynamics as Gran turismo is for gamplay but great for the other stuff ie setting cars and other stuff to real world specs.

you dont buy NFS for a driving simulator.. That is gran tourismo - NFS is supposed to be outlandish and exaggerated. And why complain about there being nissans and other rides in it when there is also muscle cars??

you buy NFS for wacky fast fun, burnouts, drifting and loud cars
