Any ideas on what sort of speeds you got going down their pottery beige? Would have been a nice thrill!

the story was a media beat up at its best. the 3 riders are extreme sport professionals and are in the top 20 in the world. they were training for an event coming up at mt panorama. it was at 2am in the morning with next to no traffic. they have someone driving a car behind them in the lane they are in with their hazards on.

the media make it sound like they were weaving in and out of the peak hour traffic. they also make out like its just a bunch of kids who decided to have a skateboard. wouldn't want the truth getting in the way of a good story.

they were wearing full helmets, full leathers etc etc.

Did the media use the same clip as the one attached to this thread?

I watched this clip on Youtube after it appeared on ninemsn about a month back.

Not something I would do, but even if they took a few precautions it is still a public road (freeway?) and.. you know that saying... 'stool happens'.

Who am I to talk... I got my BMX to 70 down my street with no helmet and a pair of thongs when I was but a lad growing up lol.

I like that one, almost as good as "I don't give an aeronautical fornication about...." which was also mentioned on this very forum a while back.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/s...-1225956247634

this is the footage. 2 cars and a truck. in typical fashion they replay the same clip from different angles to make it look like its worse. the car behind them is part of their team.

i'm not condoning what they did, but its not as bad as they first made out. when i first heard it on the news a few days ago, i too thought 'what idiots' but then read the more correct news story in yesterdays paper and thought 'typical media'. its all about ratings these days.

It's been done in Melbourne's Burnley Tunnel in 2004 from memory.. so dangerous for many reasons but somehow very admirable

Maybe so, but then some kids sitting around having a drink or a cone suddenly get a great idea "Hey, I saw this on the TV looked cool, lets have a go".
Next thing you know they're getting splatterd on the highway and some poor truckie (like the one right behind the clowns) has to live with that for the rest of his life.

I'd be more impressed if they went down the up track.
If they could do that at any time of the day & survive then
