read in the herrod area of the forums and Vote yes or no for Eseries underdrives

Underdrives are different sized pulleys. The idea is that by changing the size of the pulleys on the front of the engine, accessories such as alternator and power steering pump dont spin as fast and you save engine power. The down side is that if they spin too slow, bad things can happen (like your battery going flat while you drive).

From what I have heard they are not available for the 4.0L engines because the setup they have from the factory is pretty much spot on. Would be interesting what sort of results you get from them though.

from herrod about batteries going flat with under drives


That seems a bit of a myth, the battery going flat, it like saying if you
drive at 75kmh the battery charges less than at 100kmh.
The underdrives reduce the amount of energy that it takes to rotate the
alternator,water pump, air con pump, therefore allowing the engine to
increase the revs faster, and increase the amount of torque the engine
creates in a quicker amount of time.
