Hey guys,
Thought I'd bring this up over winter so it gives us plenty of time before the good weather kicks off again to organise monthly AU meets in melbourne.. If there is enough interest I will look into organising suitable places to have the meet.. I've noticed there has been a quite a few newcomers to the AU area and would like to hear from ALL members new and old on whether they would like a meet.. A central location will be decided on so as to accomodate all members whether they be from northern/eastern/western/southern suburbs.. The meet would be on a week night once a month.. (eg. Third Wedneday of each month perhaps) Hope to hear some thoughts..! Cheers

Good to see a couple already...
I will leave this thread open until the end of the month and see the interest it gets.. If you guys have any thoughts of where we could have the meet, feel free to tell us about it.. Also, if possible, put down where in melbourne you live, just so we can judge a central location.. Cheers

I would come along, just not every month as I live in castlemaine, but as much as I can.
As well we could have an AU cruise, say every 3 months on a weekend. |

Great..!!
Looks like it's getting some interest..! Now, as we all live in different parts of Melbourne, does anybody have some suggestions or 'good spots' that we can hold this meet..? Keeping in mind that it will be at night and on a weeknight. I'll keep this thread open until the end of the month and after all the suggestions are taken into account we'll start a new thread on where and when it will be held monthly.. Also guys, feel free to put down what night suits you so we can work out a good night for it.. Cheers..!

I reckon a night that doesn't clash with any other meets that may be happening (B-series etc)...maybe a Monday or Tuesday evening?
And it may even be worth considering having the meet in different places...that way it's not the same people having to drive halfway across Victoria to come along...this would also potentially give us a different venue for photoshoots etc every month/2 months for those that are into it!

Here is my idea, How about the first meeting be at FORD in Broadmeadows. Then we can discuses new places to meet........ like pick a different Bunning’s car park every month around town. what night suits you so we can work out a good night for it.. Any night for me will do. but not every 3rd Saturday Night of each month Western Suburbs Meet N Greet New Location: Image Auto car park, between Bob Jane Tmarts and the Car Wash. Keilor Melton HWY. (next meet 21st April) |

Okie dokie..!!
Well it looks as if we have enough interest in this to start the ball rolling..! One suggestion. Should we make it the 2nd (something)day of the month so it is not conflicting with any other meets. I was thinking for the first meet we make it somewhere central to all suburbs, so as to be fair to all. Then we could throw out some ideas and go from there I guess. Then each month it would change from northern suburbs, to eastern suburbs, to western suburbs etc.. So where's a good central location for the first meet..? (I don't mind the Ford HQ idea, but a whole group of cars parked at Ford at night on the Hume Hwy would most likely attract unwanted attention) Any suggestions? Good to see quite a few willing to jump on board..!

if we all were doing this in summer say a meet time @ 7-8pm, it should still be reasonably daylight/sunset time, more so once daylight savings starts, perhaps it wont look as suspicious? and a good thing about ford broadmeadows/hume hwy is that it leads almost everywhere via hume/sydney road or ring roads...? |
