You'd hope Ford or FPV would have a sticker pack at least this month, just for the die hards. I understand the RSPEC just took a big piece of the cake this year but it would be good yeah?

The GT came out in 67' so shouldn't the 50 year anniversary be 2017?

i think it would be safe to say that if the falcon pushes into 2017 that fpv would find it hard to resist making a 50th anniversay GT,
gt gold, black stripes at the bottom of the doors, some type of retro type look perhaps? this would be about the time i'd be looking to buy a gt so i'd be interested.. |

We're at the 10th Anniversary of FPV, I know we have the R Spec but perhaps it mightn't have hurt from a marketing perspective to sneak the 10th anniversary thing into the R Spec somehow...

They are calling it the '50th year of Bathurst'. They can't call it the 50th running of Bathurst because of the 2 x 2 Litre years. They can't call it the 50th Anniversary or the 50th Birthday of Bathurst because those, too, are next year. Anyone born in 1963 turns 50 in 2013. When you are born you are 0, your 1st birthday comes a year later. When youare married your first wedding anniversary is a year later. So if the first running of Bathurst was in year 0, then it's 1st birthdary/anniversary is in 1964, and so on until it's 50th anniversary/birthday is 2013. Hang on. What was I talking about again? There was another Ford GT born before 1967 that took out the first three Bathust wins - Cortina Mk1 GT. So maybe Ford could rebadge a turbo Focus into a Cortina GT as a tribute to these little wonders.

50th running (sort of) of The Great Race at Bathurst.
53rd running (sort of) of The Great Race. We're talking about people who can only handle Red and Blue here, lets not get all spock about it. Last edited by The Snout; 17-09-2012 at 07:26 AM. |
