It is a scam - report it to Ebay before somebody loses out.
It voilates Ebay rules by asking Buy now messages to be sent to a 3rd party email

0 Feedback seller, location is USA...

Would there be a way to stooge him back? ie) somehow make it so he is forced into selling you a BA XR6 for $10k or something?

to rpeort it - at the bottom of the auction page click report and select the reason why. ie. trying to transact/sell outside Ebay. They don't like it when they miss out on fees.

Stuff that for an idea - cash up front HA HA HA HA HA AS if ?!??

I sent him an email. Lets see what his reply is.

Also, is your car a MkII, or MkI? Lastly, does it have climate control? Your description shows that it does, yet the interior doesn't, because it is the Poverty Pack Interior.

Thanks for your help.

I spent many years in the Military and let me tell you - that aint true.

I've reported many of these scammers to ebay.

I used to have a shortcut to the 'report a member' page on my desktop but list it last reformat of the computer.

Everyone who sees this type of thing should report it ASAP because believe it or not, people do fall for this type of thing all the time.

While I would feel sorry for anyone who lost their hard earned in a scam like this, you would have to be pretty stupid and gullible to fall for it.
Why on earth would you take a falcon or commodore to the us and then try and sell it back in australia dirt cheap?
Also have you noticed that they list the registration number in the description but then black it out in the pics? Why would you do that?

I just can't believe these people have the nerve to run such blatant and obvious scams. The sooner they are caught the better.

ebay loves scammers. while they're paying the bills why get rid of them? i mean look at all the free publicity they generate!

if i posted a peice of dirt on there now, i'd pay a fee, and someone would post a link to it on a web site or forum - publicity. so even if nobody bids, ebay get free linkage to wide variety of sites, branding, a good google pagerank, fees from my item... why would they ban these crooks.

got my reply
Quote:
Hello,

The price I want to obtain for it is $10,600 AU and I'm requesting a AU $5,000 REFUNDABLE deposit prior shipping and the balance to be paid after delivery and inspection (this price includes shippment and insurance charges).

The car is located in Zagreb, Croatia and we found out that we cannot register the car here, because it is an AU model (Australian Delivery, RHD) with AU specs and Europe regulations are different from the australian ones. Also we didn't pay yet the duties for bringing it here and if we sell it back to AU there will be no more duties to be paid. Now we have our money stucked with this vehicle, so the low price is for a fast cash deal.
The car is like new, completely working, low miles and has clear title. It has always been garage kept. It will be shipped from Zagreb, Croatia and it will take no more then 5 days for the car to arrive at the delivery location. The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the package will be down to me because I have some conections there and you will pay the fees for transferring the money (about 5% of the total amount). If you are not 100% content with the car, you will ship it back on my expense to get your money back. I am sure this will not happen, because it is a state of the art vehicle and you will have no reason to reject it.
If you agree with these terms, please send me your full name, home and shipping address so I can register the transaction with eBay Square Trade asap.
Regards,
he didn't even bother to sign a name at the end of the msg lol

Sounds like the same guy who tried it a year ago. I knew it was too good to believe - a XR6 BA for $12,000. I took his bluff and told him I need all his details to make the payments, then reported him to eBay for the scam, I didnt pay him anything. Good to see he is back to his old tricks, except the guy was registered in the UK, the response email is exactly word to word for what I got from him.

there was a Saleen s/c Mustang on there awhile back .... in Italy ... d'oh

same type of bs ...

had about a half a dozen emails from the guy

I refused the "Western Union Trust fund" and any other types of payment he came up with

kept emailing him for something to do (other than work)

finally he said I could send the money to a relative or family friend and they could come and inspect it ... if ok ... leave the deposit 50%

I emailed back .... my sister lives in the south of France and often works in Italy, she can be there next Monday ....

no answer

the add was pulled :
