Default Late clutch engagement

Hey guys,

The clutch in my ute is about as late as any sydeny train.

Anyonoe got any idea how to adjust the clutch on a 5 speed manual on an XR8 AU ute. I ahve tried the main nut near the firewall, but all that does is move the throw of the pedal, and then it won't disengage properly as it needs a certain amount on push.
