TWO high-speed street races left a young man dead, eight people injured and a bus driver trapped in a wreck last night. A passenger in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo died instantly when a 19-year-old P-plate driver lost control and smashed into a power pole on the Princes Highway at Tempe about 10.15pm. Two cars were heard travelling at high speed seconds before the impact. Police were examining a Mazda RX7 near the crash site early today. The driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition. The crash came 15 minutes after a government bus came within centimetres of smashing into a Chatswood apartment after being forced off the Pacific Highway. The bus had collided with a Subaru WRX before smashing through a brick wall. The Subaru was allegedly racing two other vehicles. The bus driver was trapped in the wreckage and was taken to hospital after being cut free. Seven passengers were treated for minor injuries. Forget all this alleged stuff, they were racing. I can't say anymore.
