I always thought Caltex was a Australian company

Till, a mate of mine who works for Chevron said he was doing some work at the Caltex refinery??, Turns out CALTEX is Owned by Chevron and started life as a venture between>

Californian Standard Oil company and Texaco to give competition to Mobil who at the time was the only Oil company present in Australia, Chevron acquired Texaco at some point and thus CALTEX as well!

Got to say i was surprised.
