Default Polyurethane vs Fibreglass Bumpers

Guys,
I'm considering purchasing a rebel rear bar for the AU but am worried about the fact that you can only get fibreglass products. What is everybodies thoughts on fibreglass as bumper bars. I need to put my mind at ease. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
