Hey fellas
For starters, I ran my car at Calder the other week and my stats where: R/T: .848 60': 2.175 330': -- 660': 9.674 @ 72.37 mph E/T: 15.080 @ 91.03 mph I am wondering if this time was good for a stock car (All work that is done is, intake, and exhaust). I also run a 5sp manual. Was the final mph ok for the time that it got aswell? And the final question is, I am thinking about going Cam and Chip. I run a hybrid motor therefor I need a AU cam (cuz of the rocker gears). can anyone give me a price for a cam/chip big enough to get me into the low 14's? I was considering MSII, I will then need to build + install it. Then find somone to do a good tune on it! Hard to find a real good tune somtimes I hear. And my other thaught was JMM Cam kit (With chip, cam, springs etc.) + installed. $3,000 though! :s Thanks fellas SupahStah

Would you consider 3.9 diff gears. They would help you off the line and overall acceleration.
Surecam do great cams, and they also do packages with chips as well. screw paying $3000!!! You could easily get into the 13's with $3000

I did a 15.153 with an XR Cam, Manual and 3.9's on my first ever go when mine was a manual. only got down to a 15.1, but i launched like a pussy back then. Had 179RWHP in those days.

Surecam does interest me though. I dont realy want to change diff gears, I do a bit of highway kms. And my car revs high enough at 100kms already lol.
I'll scope surecam out this weekend. Supahstah

warming up tyres... i start in the water, in 2nd and sit on about 4500-5000rpm, and slowly creep forward a couple of metres. i then put it in first, and dial (2500rpm) up a few revs and sorta pop the clutch a bit, to see if the tyres are sticky. i do that twice.
i then stage, 4000rpm. i dont bother about reaction time, but i dont sit there for ages. generally 1 sec. When the light is green, i let the clutch out a bit and stand on the gas, and then i let the clutch out, but not drop it. you have to feed it out quickly and smoothly. I am using 2 year old 17" Wanli tyres. $135 each. Still legal tread, (not after powercruise last month). Have a look on google video, and type in 41tre, and you will get a couple of videos of my runs

hehe.. getting back to your previous post. the cam i have definitely wouldnt suit a standard auto and standard diff gears. I told Phil from Surecam my car setup, manual, diff gears, chip AU XR6 motor blah blah, and he grinds a cam to suit
