Default EB GLi with carby ??

I have a 03/92 EB GLi thats fitted with a carby! how is this possible? the model number is 181 33 and the engine type is D.

Long story short, I bought an EB for some bits for the EA, the original owner spent $500 on the head and front gear but when installed could not get the oil light to go out so they gave up and got another car.

But since when does a GL "i" come with a carby or am I being grossly stupid?

Added Ps. it's dual fuel.

Theres CPI (Carb type throttle body with 2 injectors) and MPFI (Injector rail and 6 injectors).

Sounds like its the CPI, which is a carb looking throttle body with just two injectors in it. Its actually EFI still.

Thanks, any idea what this would come under in Technical? I've tried some search terms but no results, just basics, what goes where and why they did such a thing, seems like some sort of stop-gap measure.

Regards Prof.

They're also known as CFi. That is centrepoint fuel injection

MPI didnt come standard until April 1992 with the EBII.
EBI only had GL badges, so it sounds like someone put a GLi one on yours.
Like said, it isnt a carby, its a throttle body injection.
