Default Widest rims & tyres on AU ute?

Hi, I know this should maybe be in the tyre n wheel forum but its AU specific so I thought I'd put it here.

I'm looking at getting some 19's or possibly 20's for my ute and was wondering what are the maximum width I can run for both rim and tyres... I'd love to get a staggered set with 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears... I just want to make sure they will fit. And what size tyres I should run on them?

Also my car is on SL front and rear. but will soon be going to SSL front SL rear with shortened shocks.

Thanks for ya help
Michael

As long as the ofset is right you shouldn't have a problem with that combo. I run 245/35 tyres on my 20x8.5 rims and don't have a prob.

I'm runnining 275/35/20 on the back on my ute which is lowered and haven't any issues so as long as your offset is rite I can't see any probs.

Sweet well atm I'm waiting on a quote for 19's as the wheels I want dont come in 20's... But i'll get the guards rolled and hopefully shouldn't have a problem with them.

Cheers
Michael

In 19s, you can run 245s on the front, and 265 or 275s on the back. in 20s, you can only run a 225 on the front.

NANKANG 245/30ZR20 fit perfect on the fronts, specially made so the lip of rim isn't sticking out like the 225 did on a 8.5" rim which didn't look rite.

Here are some pics with tyre fitted, soory but couldn't get any pics of the ball joint as car sits too low to even get a view with wheel fully locked, it's tight but never had a problem to date.

Cheers
Micks

cheers Mick, yeh its slightly better fit to the edge than the 225 TOYO's im running atm, and the Nankans would be a heap cheaper too than the Toyo's.

cheers,

Gonz.
