Was just thinking today and wondered how much Busses cost for rego each year? I would imagine it would be a weight issue and the rego would be steep. Same as trucks I guess. How much is it to register a prime mover?

It can be quite steep and it really depends on the amount of seats and weather or not it is for comercial use or private use. At least the CTP portion.

Yeah, but I mean rego only, not insurance.
Just thinking of the amount of damage they do to roads and was thinking I wonder how much they get hit for rego?

In NSW, rego ONLY for a bus used commercially is between $5000 and $6000, depending on weight.
Green slip alone is ~$4000, rego fees, including road use levy is ~$900

In vic a truck is around 5k. You can get a primary producer plate which is way way cheaper but you can't do work for cash.
I imagine a bus would be the same deal. |

Thanks.
So it is rather steep rego then. Which it really should be for the weight of the vehicles.

We have 9 busses and 3 coaches.
Just when we get over the pain of paying for one, we get the bill for the next one. :
