The funny thing is,... we realy have not had that much rain out of this event. I remember not so long ago, the Beerburrum area recieving over 400mm in one day, and the bruce hyw getting cut at king johns ck and beerburrum ck. So 150ish mm in 12 hrs is not at all that much. Wait till later this season when we will get even bigger falls over SEQ, then we will realy see some flooding.
Stay safe and use this experience to prepare for the next event. |

Well im home and happy, have a beer in one hand and a socket in the other working away on the au
Went past shaw road which is still blocked off, however flooding has subsided. Crawl out towards Stafford road wasn't that bad, and the Toombul tunnel is only wet, nothing major going on there. Seems like things are going back to normal for now, however the morning should bring some fresh rain with it. Stay safe everyone. Cheers, Grandpa_Spec_AU |

Only a few years ago, you couldn't watch the news without hearing some kind of mention of climate change or droughts. If you watched The Weather Channel back then it seemed as if they were trying to alarm viewers that we're heading for doom unless we all stop using cars, etc. I'm glad they've laid off the doom.

I went down to Cleveland Point when it was high tide and the waves were splashing over the edge like they normally do during high tide on a windy day. Today, however, the waves were splashing up all the way down the east side of the peninsula.
I went back later when the tide was out and it looked very miserable out there. |

I travelled Toowoomba to Brissy yesterday, leaving at around 6am, drizzle until Withcott then absolutely peeing down all the way into Eagle Farm. Spend a few hours there and headed back the same route, still peeing down! Around Hattonvale, Minden and Marburg was water laying around in paddocks like I have never seen before.
It was incredible and a little tense driving at times too. I love wet weather. |

Well on the way past the Kedron Brook near shaw rd this morning a shipping container was still firmly lodged in one of the drains. Water levels are slowly receding but I agree with you Racecraft, could just be a precursor to some major flooding :S

Well as long as it stops raining just long enough for me to go out and enjoy the new overflowing Summer Set dam, bring it on! While for work purposes I'd prefer light showers with a mild wind, I love the wet.
We haven't had a decent downpour in ages, however I'm waiting for the joys of thunder storms and the like to set in. It has been forever since I've heard the clap of a tree exploding from a lightening strike! |
