I have a small oil leak from the alloy sump. Ford dealer has looked at it and is unable to find the source. Suggested that it might be a porous sump or defect in the casting. I have also been under the car on numerous occasions but there is no visible source of the leak. It appears low down on the sump so it is definitely not from the sump gasket etc.
Anyone else experienced this kind of problem? |

No I have not had this problem, but I was told that every couple of oil changes you need to replace the sump plug as it has a o ring and the o ring is not replacable cost $18.00, another way to rip people off.

Since the car is a WT and is very new, it is Ford's problem. Ford not being able to find the source is unacceptable. You need to tell them this. You bought a new car, not an old Gemini that should leak oil.
I would demand to speak with the dealer principal and suggest that at the very least Ford replaces the sump and gives you a courtesy car free of charge until the problem is fixed. If not take it too Fair Trading as the problem will only worsen with the car's age. |
