6 stacker cd needs repair

Dropped the 6 stacker from Territory into local audio repair shop. Discovered it has stripped small plastic gear and quoted over $280 for repair. Must be better alternative somewhere. Any advice on who does repairs on these units. They seem to be a problem.

we dont recommend replacing just damaged parts, you would need a complete change over cd mech, not worth just repairing gears, it might fail again. for more info please call us 0397991444

Thanks for your response . So the changeover units that you have are new, since you don't recommend changing parts .

I have a ba xr6 T ute and recently had a cd stuck in the stacker.. took it to a well known auto elec/audio shop and they said that the sections in the stacker warp, and will not work anymore.. they quoted 800 for a new one installed, is there any other options i have, i dont want to install an aftermarket head unit, if i dont have to. any answer or adrvice is much appreciated.. thanks.

Hi i need a 6 stacker preimum sound cd unit as the one in my ba fairlane is stuffed ,i took out 7 disks and it refuses to respond (i guess the previous owner found this out before trading it in ?)Also My fault for not trying it out strait away when i brought the car.
