Oh yeah i hear ya! I had my EA out when stock and it did really good as it has an lsd. Still occasionally take my Fairlane out too to take the motorbikes out and theyre the comfiest thing ever

Goes most places, have taken it on 4wd trails (not too hardcore in WA) with success. They sure built them tough thats for sure, aussie made for aussie conditions.

I've had a few Falcons and I'm old enough to remember the first Falcon. Our neighbour bought a new Falcon in '63. I misheard my Dad calling it a "foul can".
Anyhoo, my favourite is my now replaced MK1 G6E.
It did everything well.
I could drive it between Bris and Longreach (12 hours) stopping only for fuel and step out of it with no issues. At my age that's a real bonus.
My new Calais is very good as well but it's no better, in that sense, than the 6 years older Ford.

edit: pic for posterity

The greatest of the earliest Falcons was a ZH Fairlane well not a falcon but I could live with day to day doing big KM in comfort and looks good even today and no one could truly bag it, I would not go back any further than that but maybe a P5 LTD or Landau.

The XR Falcon was a real step up with the V8 as a desirable car in the day I can't see anyone boasting about wanting anything before that as a true enjoyable enthusiast car and the next is the XA just for better seats mainly.

The rest are just Falcons with improvements mainly with the engines from EB on that standout.
