Default Now with 5 gears :P

Hey all

i have just converted the EL to a 5spd out of an EL xr6 :WOOT: there is just couple thing i need to fix which are: Thermo fans stay on the time, which im thinking coz it hasnt got a temp reading from the auto so how can i trick the ECU to think its ok and to trcik the ECU to think its in Nutral?

ANd one more thing is the revs sit around 1000rpm can i just turn the screw back in the idle?

thanks in advance

Nick

I don't have the pin outs for the 60 pin plug with me, bu for the trans temp you need a 12k ohm resitor or close to that from the trans temp pin to the trans temp ground pin.

For neutral use a resistor between 4.5k and 4.9k ohm or 18.6k to 19k ohm. This is for neutral and park. Either will work.

Once the car has these two things the revs should drop so dont touch the throttle. The lack of the trans temp will give you 750rpm idle straight off, and with no signal from the inhibit switch it assumes you are in D and my guess is the 1000rpm idle will be because the car will be compensating for the extra load of an auto in D but becuse its not there you just get the extra revs instead.

Check fordmods for the pinouts. ANything EB2 6cyl, ed and el will be the same.

Easiest way to make that issue go away instantly, a manual ECU and manual wiring loom.

As if you need that feature (already has ABS and Brakes and a steering wheel, thats enough to keep it on the road)
