Lightbulb Possible Performance Upgrades for a non-RS 2013 Focus?

Hello!I've owned my Focus MKII Trend 2013 for around a year, currently on ~168,000 KMs, and I've been wondering if there's any performance parts/upgrades I can do in order to improve handling and/or power.I know car tuning/upgrading isn't like Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune where you can magically pull an extra 700hp outta thin air, but I figure there must be something I can do or look at in order to make my car perform a little better than stock.All of the parts I see online though are for the RS/ST variants, so I'm not even sure If i can get anything full stop, hence why I'm asking here.

Not much you can do engine wise unfortunately that's worthwhile...

Assuming it's a regular 2 litre petrol, a tune won't give much of a power increase for the money you're spending, and an exhaust and cold air intake system won't also add too much power (if any) for the money you spend...

You can play around with the suspension, and put ST rims, etc for better handling, but my best piece of advice would be to sell the regular Focus and buy an ST, as there will already be more power out of the box, much more tuning potential, and better resale value...

Also, is your car auto or manual? The Power shift automatics can't even handle stock power, and apparently the manuals aren't very robust when more power is added to them, but they're better than the autos...

Ah that's where I've messed up then. It's an automatic, however as you said, there's not much I can do besides getting an ST. Thank you for your reply ^^

No worries... Look, there is some limited aftermarket stuff available for the non-ST/RS models, but IMO it's not worth it due to the minimal power increases you will see (if any)... The Powershift automatic transmission in these is so bad, that there's a class action against the transmissions in multiple countries, so if I were you, I'd be very careful with this transmission, or sell the car entirely... What engine do you have BTW?

If you were to keep it though, you could look into upgrading infotainment, and maybe swapping out the wheels for a higher spec model, but that's as far as I'd go IMO...

Here is the Wiki page on this transmission providing specs, and details on why there was a class action against them:

Yeah I read that wikipedia article after I got the car and I'm still upset with myself for not looking into past issues with an older car model. But It's a mistake I'll never do again XDI'm not looking to update the infotainment cause I actually use the CD player, plus I can't be bothered swapping it out for a marginal benefit with android auto.The auto transmission hasn't been the worst actually. It stutters a bit at slower speeds when accelerating, but once it's going it's good and I'm not really in the mood to sell simply because I don't earn that much money ^^;;;
