Default What is standard on 185 Kw 302?

Hi there,

I have a 99 AU1 Fairmont, It has K&N airfilter, Tickford snorkel, Jim Mock extractors and exhaust, this is supposed to get it to the XR8 195Kw range. :

What heads did these engines come with,GT-40P's? and I believe that they run the explorer intake manifiold, can someone confim what the heads and intake manifold are so I can plan my next mod attack, not much point sourcing things I don't need. :

Regards.

All AU's (bar 220's) ran Explorer intake and GT40P's.

Correct. Even the 220's ran GT40P's, but they were modified.

The only exceptions to that are the T1/T2/T3 series cars where some ran GT40Y's (alloy version), and the T3 with its unique intake manifold.

Didn't some of the S2 XR8's with the 220 run GT40X/Y alloys as well?

nope...Y heads flow basically the same as the Yella Terra modified P's. I guess the modified P's where cheaper for the same level of performance.

The X heads where a bit better again (much larger ports), but they where never used from the factory on local Falcons.
