Correct, Walkinshaw Performance was set-up to compete with the aftermarket by offering "non adr" (Shhhh don't tell anyone!) modifications....
They offer what HSV can't.

all cars are sold through their respective dealer networks they are serviced and warrented through the same ford / holden networks . the cars are all built to the standard of FPV/HSV before being delivered to the dealers . the so called modifications ( really enhancements as a modification indicates a change from a standard production car these are standard production cars in their own right) are not available after delivery to the dealer or customer. they are ADR compliant and fully backed by the parent company

for these reasons the are not aftermarket and never will be . aftermarket means after sale and these are fully built and enhanced proir to being put up for sale.

As stated, the simple fact that you can buy an HSV from a Holden dealer or an FPV from a Ford dealer and take them right back for all warranty work shows they're not aftermarket.

Although I now agree that neither are Aftermarket modifiers, your point does not prove it.

The "If" and "Who" of warranty service is irrelevant - all this could be negotiated financially between the companies - transparent to the owner.

The clincher is the Word AFTERMARKET.

My ever so humble opinion is now"

Neither HSV nor FPV are aftermarket vehicle modifiers.
HSV is a Rebadge/Modify/distribute entity (as it is 0% holden owned)
FPV is Ford (as it is 49% Ford owned).

HSV is a company that goes beyond what Nissan did to the Ford Ute, what holden did to the corola, and pulsar .... but in the same genre - except they do not actually produce a car of their own.

Ok, we'll break it down even more.

Aftermarket modifier. After market. The market ends at the driveway of the dealership. You drive your Ford or Holden off the yard and to a tuner, it's after market. If you drive your Ford or Holden off the yard, tuned, it was done before market. However, dealers do modify vehicles after being received from Ford or Holden... so! If Ford or Holden corporate authorise a warranty repair by a dealer on an FPV or HSV (at no cost to that dealer) on a part that was tuned it's on a modification before market.

I'l take it one step further, how it enters the dealers door FROM the manufacturer determines what it is..

Maybe if ford or holden send a completely made car to FPV or HSV then they would be like phase autos or herrod in some cases.

It could of been said that Tickford when it initially started was a aftermarket modifier due to the difference in Ford completing the car and Tickford completing the car (when I researched my EB XR6 there was 3 weeks between Ford completing it as a S-Pack and Tickford completing it as a Xr6).
