The VN Commodore came with a diff that was welded at the factory to save time.

VNs are Horn.

Has the exact thing happened on this very forum?

I remember the thread from years ago, but was this person serious? If he was, I bet was really mislead by the forum members.

Got any striped paint, reach arounds or spirit level bubbles? Willing to trade a left handed screw driver and 4 tubes of elbow grease for the above items.

I feel sorry for the guy, if you're not mechanical, how are you supposed to know that "flush" means remove the engine and place in the toilet.

Surely we are not as gullible as the Americans.
Nobody is that stupid, and if they were they wouldn’t admit it on a forum.
PS there’s a post in 2008 saying it was a hoax.

The closest I’ve known about is a guy we knew growing up topped up the oil in his old mans car. And when I say topped it up, he really filled it, he actually got it running for a short time afterwards..

I also know someone who "topped up" the oil in their car until they could see the oil at the filler cap. Not sure how much they put in but it was quite a few litres. As you would expect it wouldn't start when he tried.

This same person also fell through the roof in his carport when he went up to check on something and didn't know you shouldn't walk on the gyprock panels. Landed on the bonnet of the same car and put a lovely dint in it. lol

When I was a driveway attendant many many many moons ago, one of the newbies had to be physically stopped from pouring water into a car's engine when he was checking the oil and water

I heard a story about someone topping oil up to the cap also. Difference was it wasn't his car, lol. He worked at a service station and a women in a newish Benz pulled up and asked this guy to check her oil level and top up as required, he topped it up all right...
