What do you all prefer for looking after your car properly ?

98 for the GT.

My science may make no sense at all but I prefer to use 98 octane, just because I prefer the idea that whatever I put in my petrol tank combusts and nothing else lingers around inside the engine that it doesn't need... I might be completely wrong about crap getting in the engine but thats the reason I use 98 lol

98 octane will take more compression before combusting yes but all in all premium is generally of a better purity than 91 so it can be better to use it solely for that reason

don't tell ACA though

LPG if installed and maintained correctly can be a fantastic fuel to use, depending on the application.

Also you will find that some injected LPG systems WILL increase HP output, so again you're wrong there.

there are so many other lines of incorrect diatribe in there that i haven't got the time to go into it. Also a little respect for those more established members who do know a thing or two on the subject would go a long way.

I noticed in another thread you also said all B series fairmont ghia's are ugly and crap.



it's fine to have an opinion, but backing it up or basing it on fact can be helpful. Research is your friend.

I did indeed say they are for numerous reasons

1. Way to much hard plastic
2. The build quality is rather appauling
3. The interior design using to much plastic looks cheap
4. The smaller steering wheel compared to the AU/and below makes driving & hand comfort & space small
5. The overall quality of materials is really below what they once were
6. The instrumentation you lose the oil pressure & voltage meter .. Some like seeing more of whats going on with there motor
7. The new Barra series 6 is really not that good
8. Fuel ecconomy is worse
9. The actual looks of it aint curvy or anything just like a slap slap here is your so called "Fairmont Ghia"
10. And by far my favourite mechanical wise.... The way it shifts, sounds really isnt good or unique anymore

how many b series have you owned Ford-Lover1991? I've had 4 including a Fairmont, and i loved it. In fact it was the most reliable Ford i've ever owned. I've also owned two AU's and i love them to bits but the size of the wheel is nothing to do with... actually i don't even understand that point (#4).. It may interest you that i've also owned three EL Ghia's, two being v8. I love them dearly but they're not a patch on later models. Also with the B series, hand space is great on them, they have the whole of the base of the wheel cut out for your hand. RE: gauges, yes it sucks they removed them i've always said that but the b series has an area for a gauge pod, put one in. You lost me at "The new Barra series 6 is really not that good". That's just gold. I guess that's why the turbo 6 is so terrible.

Also point #10 i can't interpret either

The only point you have correct is the cheaper looking plastics, and that only goes for the doors.
