Roundabouts for me... the traffic just seems to flow much better on a nice big roundabout than on traffic lights.

roundabouts, much better, but it would be a bit of a mess in peak hour traffic!

I prefer round about anywhere but major roads and in the city.
Nothing makes me angrier then stopping at a set of lights late at night and there is *no-one* around... but you can't run them incase there is someone around, hoping you'll do just that.... |

I prefer roundabouts as i think lights with long waits encourage people to go through a very orange/reddish light. And i was at a set of lights once that didnt know there was a line of cars to turn right and did the rotation 3 times without a green. At least.

I live on the sunny coast QLD. We have HUGE roundabouts and i feel they a good thing in most cases. Good traffic flow. I have seen people do some DUMBASS things on them though....OH let me do a U turn here and drive the wrong way back up the motorway ramp and lets cross lanes because i'm so important (ignorant). They are good for the experienced at roundabouts. anyways!

I love the way you can do U turns at most traffic lights up here on the Sunshine coast, back in Adelaide they are not permitted on any traffic light and its about a $200 + points fine if you do

Roundabouts in peak hour traffic are useless. You cant cross a major line of traffic or merge into to it, I know in Canberra ive waited and waited for ages to get through because I was not part of the major strem of traffic. Fortuanatly in Canberra there is only 30-40mins of peak hour traffic so its easily avoided most days.
They are certainly benificial for light or medium amounts of traffic though.

Roundabouts are put on a major roads in a completely inappropiate spot far too often by councils, I can only guess they are far cheaper then lights, but I would rather lights over roundabouts any day, besides far too many morons cant even understand the concept of a roundabout.

I prefer roundabouts as opposed to traffic lights as it 'seems' faster. The only real issue is to make sure you are in the correct lane to turn left or right and make sure you obey the rules.

I hate both. but lights are better.
Round-abouts chew the tyres. I hate you round-about engineers |
