Nice ride indeed. Gotta love Ford Families!

The best thing is that you haven't been stitched up and you know the history of the car!

All the best with it.

Man don't convert, destroys resale and auto isn't that much worse off if you put a small stall converter in (2000-2500 rpm max) thats if you want to retain reasonable economy. The AU 220kw finished what the VN SS began all those years back, BUILDING KICK ИИИИ 5.0L. There's just something so right about a small block V8 being 5.0L.

V nice FPV8U, welcome to the club!

PS: auto's are great on the XR's. Adaptive shift is pretty smart around town, so as long you're not drag racing or anything you'll find the shift is nice and late with the pedal down. my humble opion anyway

Stunning car.. very happy for you and its great to see another AU on board.

Hopefully I'll stop hogging space at G&D (as soon as Glenn stops giving me new ideas : ) and you can get some major mumbo in there.

Thanks dude. I was looking at buying (at some stage) the same wheels and wanted to suss out how it'd look. I've already dropped my car a bit already so it looks like the 18's won't look too bad. Tyres should also be cheaper than if I wanted to go 19's.

I here you mate, I just bought an XR8 ute and it is the best thing to drive. If I don't drive it every day, I get itchy feet, especially since it is a manual!

I dont know what all the fuss about manuals is , i've had them all my life in most of my cars and im glad to be rid of them , I'de rather an Auto with a 2500 minimum stall convertor and shift kit anyday. Bloody burning clutches out and stuff , riding the clutch all day in bad traffic , nothing but problems. Ill have my auto's any day . U'll get a quicker gear shift with any decent auto compared to a manual, my old XE ran way quicker q/miles with the auto/b&m quickshifter/stall convetor & shiftkit than it did with the manual gearbox, no matter who drove it ! - so auto's for me all the way . ..lol

imo a manual is just good for laying rubber (wheel spins , thats about it ) , oh and for the engines pull when braking, but that too is nothing a decent auto can't handle .
