I'll fill up on advance next week or should I get tuned for it first?
The servo near my place was selling it for the wrong price (apparently) and has now dropped it down to 154.9c/L. |

Scince I did the cam in my au1 xr8 I've found it sensitive to fuels (it needs a flashtune badly when I can afford it) and I've found the BP ultimate to be the best stuff by far.

I read a rumour in here that BP's going to release a 100RON petrol in 2007. Anyone heard anything about it lately?

I predominantly run Ultimate seeing the servo is conveniently located just up the road.

I use BP Ultimate and haven't had any dramas with it so far. Unfortunately we don't get vortex 98 (Caltex) in Perth.

BP Ultimate is quality fuel, pretty much straight after you put a tank of that in you suddenly notice the car has changed, idle, response...

In my car i only use unleaded.
But in the hayabusa (11.0:1)i use ultimate, which because of its higher octane rating it will not "ping". I thought that is what the RON meant? Its the measure of anti detonation(knocking)?. For higher compression, yes you need a higher rating I have tried normal unleaded only once as i needed fuel in a hurry. But never again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

I Always use BP Ultimate in my XR8, evan though i have to drive 4-5 minutes further than my nearest stations Mobil(95), Caltex(95) & Shell(98) It gets better economy, better responce and Feels like it has more "Grunt" on Ultimate than anything else i have tried. |

Have to rate the BP highest equal to the top brew in Mobil
Shell has been garbage for a while although Caltex Vortex is also noticeable amount of surge when added |

BP ultimate is pretty good stuff, I use it as often as I can, but the missus doesn't put it in when she's driving cause it's too expensive :

I've reied mot fuels but the only thing my coupe will run on properly is BP Ultimate. I also use it it my daily drivers, it costs about 5% more but you get about 10% more km's per tank and it runs better.

As far as I'm concerned, supermarkets can't do petrol. Put some Safeway regular unleaded in my old EB. I'd been using regular in it always, after that it ran like crap.
Got the XR and made the switch to Ultimate and I ain't regretting it. I go well out of my way to get it, making an 80k trip around filling her up when I'm down in Vic (Yarrawonga is a one horse town in petrol, all Caltex). Get from Wollongong to Albury on half a tank. This is from a BP flyer, so read what you want into it. 2 GTs (BA I belive) ran 7,000kms, one on Ultimate and the other on regular. Driven and Dyno ran under very, very similar conditions (there would been some diffrences, but according to them, nil). The Ultimate car bagged 13.8RWkW more than the regular car. |

Tried Mobil, Shell and BP...Mobil 95 is probably the best I found out of all of them, now we have a fuel card so usually go to Caltex. pulled 620km from a tank of Vortex95 and 642km from Vortex98. thats 22km for the cost difference...is it worth it? everyday use sees us put 95 in the tank, the 98 seems to be great fresh but you gotta use it within a week or so. definitely better for highway use though, more power, or it feels like it anyway.

We have had BP Ultimate for ages in Perth, its not too badly priced. Around $1.20 give or take . How does this cmpare to prices in other states? We have a couple of servos that sell 101 octane out of a pump

before any mods, I ran the caltex premium for about 6 or 7 tanks, mileage didn't change and I didn't motice any more power or efficiency.
For those who have noticed any gains, have you all got mods? |
