Oh for different reasons, the BOSS XR8 has always had more power than the SS I thought.
And it only lacked grunt in certain area's..hehe...lets not start that here shall we

You think the 3.2 Ea was slow! I learnt to drive in an XK 2 speed auto waggon, 2.36 litres, 64 Kw, 112 kph flat out, but that was faster than an EK Holden auto.

XR8 & XR6T were about the same to insure so I don't see your point.

The V8 vs the I6T are on par that they are hi performance models but one is NA and the other uses a turbo.

2. Insurers dont like v8s or forced induction. The i6 is different to the v8 even if they are n/a. The insurers will treat the i4t like the i6t Look how they treated the old supercharged v6 holden, look how they treat turbo vw and audi, look how they treat any turbo or supercharged car. Do you see the point yet? Ready to backpedal? |

'06 BF II (I6) one tonne Ute. Agreed value $18,500, $770 to insure. Changed to '10 SSV (manual) Ute, Agreed Value $52,000, cost $550 to insure. Kept the same policy, just changed the vehicle. So, your point is?????? |

I dont think they have ever released a falcon without grunt, for instance, if you look at a carby unleaded xf it had about 95Kw (flywheel Kw) from memory. Doesn't sound like much, but you would see them on the highway towing massive boats, horse floats with 2 horses onboard or large caravans, they weren't holding up the flow of traffic in their day. The ecoboost seems to have plenty of torque down low, where it is useful, much like an old xf.
People are not going to buy an ecoboost 4cyl to go racing, think they are aimed at city drivers or school shuttle busses. As much as I love the I6 I think ecoboost is an engine ford australia needs at this point |

People think the ecoboost will slip under the insurance radar? It has a turbo!!! Those supercharged v6 holden owners have been arguing with insurance companies for years that they are basic family cars. Watch the falcon i4t owners have the same arguments. |

The XF Wagon with the 4.1 had a lot of grunt, but was not very quick...

Of course this thread with a title like this was going to end bad .....
And just for some more information ..... even though has nothing to do with the thread ..... I have a 4cyl turbo and and the insurance is 1/2 the price as the older XR6 NA .... the turbo is also insured for more ....... but then that is very off topic isn't it.
