Revs = more fuel usage. A V config needs more revs to do what a inline does. I know there has been this arguement before, but Diesels have better fuel economy, the main reason is they have Torque at lower Revs, and max out around 3500rpm. I know why they persist with the V config, albeit a space saver, but maybe they all go front wheel drives with East-West engines? LOL has anyone done a front wheel drive inline 8cyl? (probably been done back in the 50's?) |
