GTR has history, and soul. It was built to win races in Japan and mopped the floor with everything else that was brought to the mountain here.
It is the reason why we moved from a race where you can see all different makes and models have their day and then become uncompetetive and allow another model to step up, to one where essentially identical cars drive round and round in a predictable fashion. You used to watch volvos, rx7s, jaguars, fords, holdens - all manner of different cars jostling for space on the track. It was exciting. I used to love watching what car was going to win each year when the event rolled around. Sure, it may have been a whitewash some years. Perhaps those who love sport and close competition may not have liked it and prefer the current format. But I don't really like sport. But I LOVE cars. Always have, since I was a kid. Bathurst used to be like the motorshow at 200km/hr. **** I loved it. Now....YAWN!!!! |

NSX's still command high prices compared to new, it would be hard not to call a MX-5 a classic, a car that re-invented the cheap and cheerful sporty soft-top...somthing the brits haven't done...
WRX...the only other car that would be held in as high favor would be a Lancia stratos or Audi quattro... I didn't even mention the AE86.... As far as the car world is concerned, its Germany V's Japan Vs' america...with India and Korea making moves...

This thread has managed to go from talking about stigma to a bunch of people with the exact stigma I was talking about?
But instead Ford, GT-R, Ferarri, Euro and British cars managed to hop in here 0.o So uhhh, I drive a Ford because no other company makes 4 door roomy sedans that are capable of some decent performance for the price that they are sold at. If I'm not wrong, my next choice would be in a Lexus, but the price on Lexus compared to Ford is somewhat not comparable. So I have no stigma for Ford, but seems like there is quite a bit for all cars at the moment..

my favourite japanese classic... yes, like a lot of early jajanese stuff it has some obvious styling ques from other brands, but what a good looking car.

stunning car... was it a nsx that was used to make that jag (or maclaren) copy? the pics did the rounds a few years back. might even have been some ferrari rep, cant remember. came out stunning iirc.

300's are a bit underappreciated...mostly due to the problems associated with the motors...but they are a nice coupe...
Oh, and Lamborghini used 300zx lights on the later Diablo's...
