g'day
i have a au11 falcon have had many yrs of happy motoring it is duel fuel. recently it developed a problem idling on gas it runs fine on petrol. i have replaced the oxy sensor, idle control motor, spark plugs, ignition leads, coil pack, gas stepper motor but the problem persists. the gas system suppliers say it is an ignition problem is there any one who may have had similar problem or any ideas what to test next. i have run out of ideas thanks |

Kia Ora all,
I'm Pete from rural South Island, NZild. I've got a '96 XG Longreach Panel Van and have just bought a '01 AUII Fairmont S/Wagon 5Ltr with Tickford Sports Suspension package and wheels. My other loves include a '95 Triumph Daytona Super III (900 triple) motorcycle. Looks like a great site with a load of Ford Gurus and other assorted characters. Great to be here. Cheers mates. |

Hiya Chezzak!! I'd go and find another mechanic to see what they reckon as well because from what it sounds like, and what you have replaced, it's nothing to do with the ignition. I'm not much of a mechanic but I had a ZL LTD on DF and the motor packed it in one day after it was idling rough for a while. A mate of mine had the same problem with his EL Falcon on DF. He replaced his engine and I just sold mine off to a guy who wanted it for a project. Hope this helps in some way mate.

Hi, I have finally gotten around to saying g'day. I have been a member since 2009 but with one thing & another didn't get around to signing in.
Up until today my main mode of transport has been a 1976 ZH Fairlane, 302, 9inch diff, dual fuel. In good nick but the old rust is kreeping in. I also have a '77 ZH which I am doing up with a few mods such as P6 front & rear, GS dash & fuel filler. Still have a long way to go with it though. Also have a retired '77 ZH Marquis, a lot of rust. The reason I say up until today is that I have just bought a '98 DL LTD 5ltr in pretty good shape, for $1300. My first foray into owning an electronic fuel injected car, even though I earn my living as a mobile mechanic. I just love the older more simpler cars I guess (the chrome bumpers).. I am looking forward though to trying out the new wheels. One thing I have found of assistance from Ford Forums already was how to disarm the SLS light & buzzer by removing the circuit breaker from the fuse pannel. A nice peacful 70k drive home. Car has had Pedders rear shocks & springs fitted but they didn't disarm the alarm.. Anyway now that I have introd. myself I will hang up. Cheers....lincolnt.bird. |

A hello to all.
I just recently got onto my opens and thought I'd get myself a new toy. Previous car being a BA XR6, I thought I would stay in the same line of cars and upgraded to a 08 FG XR6T. Absolutely love the car and looking forward to gaining more info and joining the ford community. |

Howdy to all
I am the usual suspect, here to steal your great wealth of knowledge on all things ford and hopefully contribute a little myself along the way. I currently have 2 fords. My daily driver, or wife's car as I call it, is a series 2 AU XR8 that's fairly stocko with 155,000 on the clock and it's a dream to own and drive. Had it for about 5 years and has hardly missed a beat. My pride and joy is a 1971 XY ute, GT replica of course, with a moderately worked 351 clevo top loader 9" combo. I have always had fords. First car was an escort, then I had a fairlane. My mrs had a laser and a Capri. And as long as I can remember the old man had fords too. I look forward to using the great tech advice available here and will drop in time to time for info and direction. Cheers Dilby |

G'day to all. I'm Arsenio from southeast of melbourne. I have a 2010 winter white fg xr6t purchased as ex hwp car last year. I've been a lurker here for a long time but I've learned a lot from this fantastic & informative website. I've done already heaps of mods (power & aesthetics) by just following this forum.
Finally got to say hi & to thank everybody especially a few of sponsors on this site who worked on my car. I'm having great fun with my car now. It's just that the mods are endless. Next week will be a big upgrade -turbo upgrade. Hoping to post pics soon. Cheers! |

Hi all. I figured seem as I finally brought my XR2 over from the UK after 17 years in my mums garage, I wouldn't mind getting it to a few shows after a few weeks of TLC getting it back up to scratch. I was curious to know of any other MK2 XR2's in Oz?
Cheers, Paul. |

Hi guys & girls, my name is John, I live in Perth. My true love is the 2 at the moment very ugly looking 66 coupe & 69 convertible mustangs, both under major restoration. The 66 will be the first to be completed after loads more work. I have imported & worked on US muscle cars for many years now. I do all the work myself and would be most interested to talk to people with similar interest.
However I have little to no knowledge on modern cars. My son has a BA MK11 Ute and due to him running into the back of someone I have the job of replacing the front bumper. Can someone point me in the right direction with how to remove & replace the front bumper on the BA and what are the tricks. I guess with most modern cars there will be a bunch of plastic clips that will break trying to remove them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. John |

Hi to all you ford fans out there and thanks for all the info posted on the site, has been most useful.
I am the proud owner of a 1973 XA falcon hard top. It currently runs a 351 clevo with auto. 9" disc rear end. The body is in very good condition with minimal rust. The guy I bought her off was looking for the the Mad Max look. So has been painted black with rear wings and XC Fairmont front end. I have been busy removing 40 years of backyard wiring from the old girl and giving a general tidy up. Am focusing on trying to get her ready to drive on the road for summer and enjoy before doing any more resto. Can any one help with holes in the engine bay. There are multiple holes throughout the engine bay from screws etc ranging in size from 3 to 20mm in size. Am wishing to fill these and touch up paint. Am thinking along the lines of welding etc, but unsure about the effects of weld pull etc. Cheers Steve |
