Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any recommendations on engine management systems for a Focus?

Depends on what you want to do mate.

You can easily reprogram both focus models LR & LS to support a supercharger or utiliez NA engine work.

Some of the Mazda 3 people in the US successfully run Haltechs. (Mazda 3 and the duratec Focus pretty much have identical engine bays)

But with the Focus, because they run a Ford ECU, tuners have been able to download and decode the standard ECU software, make necessary changes in the tune then flash the software back to the ECU. These are known as flash tuners.

From the UK I think you can get a pre-programmed flasher box from a place like Dreamscience - http://www.dreamscience.co.uk/ . These run a better tune than stock but usually require better fuel to run safe or modifications to be able to see a better gains in power.

I really don't like this method because they still put a buffer of safety in the tunes to cater for manufacturing differences between cars.

There are places that run the car on a dyno then make tweaks in the tune then repeat until the car is running at its maximum potential, making a custom tune, for your car only. The only place in OZ that I know that do this for the Focus is CAPA - http://www.capa.com.au/

BTW Photn, I just saw on their site that CAPA have a turbo kit for the LR Zetec ;)
