Default TDCi glow plug?

i read through the Focus manual and it says that when the engine is cold a light will appear to indicate the glow plug is on, and it will disapear when the chamber is hot enough to start.

we have had a few cold mornings here in melb.....around the 6degrees +- and my light only comes on for a split second....the car will start fine...but is it normal for the light to go out so quickly??

If the car is cold, the light will stay on for 1-2 seconds. So yes that's normal
