Default Is it just me????

Is it just me or does this look a bit suss
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FALCON-A...QQcmdZViewItem
It says stroked to 5.8l but a 347 is only 5.6, is ridiculously cheap, has a T5 that is handling the claimed 300rwkw, a standard intake supporting 300rwkw and a standard intake manifold.

To me it looks as if it is bs, I can't see all that adding up. I also cant see how the explorer upper could flow to 300rwkw, let alone why you would spend the $$$ getting it to that power level while leaving the standard part there.

For example look at StandardAU (jimt3te50's) T3. He had a heap of work done to that to get it to 300, a lot more than what I can see here. It's also flowing through a single 3" exhaust and has a "mild" cam. IMO to get to 300rwkw you need a pretty bloody wild cam and at least a twin 2.5 system, preferable a twin 3".

Thoughts?

I'm calling BS too.

No way will that car make 300 at the rubber. 300 flywheel is doubtful also, the Explorer upper/GT40 base just wont support it.

Mine makes 300 at the fly or thereabouts with the GT40 upper and lower and I know that it is a restriction. I also can't see the old SII T5 handling it for even 5 minutes. The T5z from a SIII or the TR3650 yes but not the old T5.

EDIT: Oh and Austin, you're a legend and you're absolutely right.

I saw this ad yesterday. If it is the car I think it is it was origainally owned by the guy who owned Trapnil Racing at Slacks Creek. (think thats how it was spelt) He built the top end of my EB. If it is the same car it was a fair weapon in its day. Mind you that was almost 7years ago now.

So maybe someone should ask the seller a question or 2...

BTW 347 x 2.54^3 = 5686cc. Sounds like 5.7 to me.

LOL! Like 4.9 / 5.0 in the good old days...

That "other" 5.7 is only 346cid anyway. There's no justice!

The seller has been asked for a dyno sheet to back up the claim, and responded:

For that combo to make 300 at the fly it would have to be a happy dyno, that's about what mine makes and I've had a bit more work than that.

Doesn't add up imo, if you were getting that much out her why would you leave it for the stock brakes to try and pull ya up and wouldn't you change from the stock air box as well ? I know I would change the above.
