Hey guys,
Recently the aircon fan decided to die on us, it would intermittently blow and then just stop. We bought a replacement fan, pulled the dash out, however we can't get this last nut off. ![]() ![]() ![]() You can see the nut in the third picture behind the green hose. Is the hose supposed to come off? It seems extremely tight and feels like taking it off would mean breaking it. There was a similar nut on the other side of the cover which was hard to get off but I managed to get them off with some nose-pliers. I can't use my socket set because the screwdriver attachment doesn't clear the thread of the bolt. Nose-pliers don't have enough clearance in the area because of the hose, but I'm not sure whether taking the hose off will actually fix the problem either. Any ideas?? I will write a how-to when this is all done ;) Thanks in advance. |

drop kcej a p.m. he has pulled out a dash before and might be able to put you in the right direction.

I went down to Super Cheap and looked and they happened to have longer sockets (called deep drive or something similar... can't remember the name of the top of my head). Using one of these allows you to clear the thread of the bolt.
And for the record, if your fan decides to intermittently die on you, check the wiring as it may just be loose! Regards |
