The difficulties seem to be plaquing everyone.

I wonder. I drive past his group a few times a week and wondered who RD was. I had read very little about him, and remember reading about his wedding several years ago to a model looking gal half his age.
In the newspaper article about the wedding, he is described as a "Gazillionaire" who took his wife away for their Honeymoon to his multi million dollar property in the states. It was on the water and was as opulent as they come. Malibu springs to mind? His picture reminds me of that father in American Pie lol. Anyway. How could someone that has his fingers in so many pies (no pun intended), had won so many selling awards and has been seen to go from strength to strength (the ultimate rags to riches story) have gone bust? This article is from 2003: Quote:
He seemed to be conservative with his debt levels as well? Doesn't make sense? |

That article is eight years old though.
He may have become more of a risk taker |

The group itself may go down but RD may or may not be liable for the debts.

Based on my recent experience when purchasing an Alfa, something wasn't quite right. I put it down to an arrogant sales guy but maybe the pressure was mounting.
Good luck to those individual affected.

Roselands, next to Fantastic Furniture. Think it's called Continental Cars or something like that.
They did some work for my Citroen as well. http://www.citroencentre.com.au/citr.../roselands.htm |

I wonder just how serious it will end up being.
Some manage to weather the storm and come out the other end ok. Apart from Rick Damelian..... in Sydney it pretty much means Trivett has just had the market handed to them on a silver platter. |

Drove past there this afternoon. All the entrances were patrolled by security guards and gates locked. Also a small story on the news in sydney tonight. Dunno if the other states got it. There was a mechanic trying to get his tools back, had been there for 20+ years. Apart form the financial probs of RD Group, what about the poor bugger that worked for him, now unemployed.

They won't be the only one's either...
From what I hear there are 5 or 6 other companies in a bind also..

Auto Group Auctions went in to receivership in 2003/2004, Strathfield Car Radios returns have been shrinking since the introduction of more complex stereos in cars (think BA onwards with Human Machine Interface etc, harder to retrofit a stereo), banks have been somewhat reluctant to lend extravagantly since the GFC for the high end cars, and his portfolio would have taken a bit of a thumping with global and domestic instabilities. He just recently had three properties at Taverners Hill up for auction and all thre were passed in, some say there weren't any buyers at the auctions. He's into the NAB for around 80 million.
I can now say it, POOR bastard.
