Would be an awesome bit of gear but I have to say, I don't really like the overall look. I think the rear is a little dated (I understand they are trying to keep the heritage etc) and just doesn't flow with the front.... Wouldn't kick one out of my driveway though

I do like the look of it, cannot wait to see one in person.
Only thing that gets me is the silly diffuser at the rear but really a small issue.

I like the rear, it integrates that Mustang style cue elegantly without resorting to a retro styled car. Porsche and Nissan (GTR tail lights) do it well too. The 2015 Mustang eats the current and previous one alive in terms of style. I think Ford hit the mark quite well.

This is a major step back in style & power to the FG F6 & probably the FG GT-F.
Can't wait to put one to shame with my FGF6.

Such an un-educated comment. The current Mustang will run with any stock F6, and the new model is supposed to be 100 kg lighter with Boss302 power levels. It will be showing you it's tail lights. And how can it be a step back in power when it actually makes more than the F6, 310 Vs 320+, current one is 312, final figure not available yet for 2015 but Ford have said 320+.

And that's before you get to the new GT350 or GT500. The GT350 is supposed to be 5.3 litres, flat plane cranked and revving to 8000 rpm. It will make a GTF look like a slug. All for the equivalent of low 40k in the US if it's priced like the current Boss302.

Interesting the power numbers the Coyote makes are underquoted, just like our FPV's. The one horsepower TV dynoed made around 460 hp, when they are supposed to be 420. Seen a few others make a lot more than quoted as well, so it seems to be the norm. Ford are very conservative with quoted power figures ever since the SVT Cobra got pilloried by buyers who were underwhelmed by their power, and a class law suit was bought against Ford. Ford ended up going up with a solution and retro fitted new manifolds and exhausts as part of a recall.

In the US they have a class in NMRA called Coyote stock, where the cars are fitted with sealed, stock factory Coyote long blocks. Just bolt on's are allowed. The quickest cars are running 9's. That's unbelievable.

So we are getting the GT350 and the GT500 in Australia come 2015? Would be interesting to see how much they would charge for a GT500 here considering they are about 60k US

No confirmation yet, because the yanks have not even confirmed the GT350 or 500 yet. And until they do FoA will not talk about it.

The simple fact is they won't come in the first year of S550 anyway, it will be a year or 2 after release until they become available in the US.

and we wont be getting them i reckon....love it how we are last on the list

http://ninemsn.carsales.com.au/news/...r=NH_editorial

History-making special edition Mustang debuts in NYC, but not for Australia
Ford will build just 1964 versions of its Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition muscle car, paying homage to the original ‘Stang’ that made its debut in, you guessed it, 1964.

Presented to the media overnight at the opening of the 2014 New York motor show by Bill Ford Jr, great grandson of Henry Ford, the special edition vehicle is offered in only two colours, white or blue, in top-spec V8-powered Mustang GT guise.

The rear-drive fastback coupe's 5.0-litre V8 bangs out 313kW/529Nm and the special edition model is "for our most die-hard enthusiasts" said Ford Jr.

The first ‘special’ edition of Ford's all-new Pony car, the 50 Year Limited Edition will not be offered outside of the USA or in right-hand drive, said Ford's chief operating officer, Mark Fields.

Australian fans having to wait more than a year - until at least the second half of 2015 - for regular Mustang models to arrive Down Under, he said.

Australia will be one of the last regions to get the Mustang after its roll out began in the USA, runs through Europe and finally to Asia Pacific countries.

Although the car's US market price was not announced, the Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition is expected to command a premium, thanks to features chrome highlights around the grille, brake lights and windows, which emulate the 1964 original.

Other changes include a Pony logo in the front grille and a (non-functional) replica fuel filler badge on the rear. Louvred rear quarter glass is another "vintage touch harkening back to the 65 fastback," said Ford Jr.

Throw in unique decor and a numbered ID badge unique to each car bearing Bill Ford Jr's signature and the result is a "highly collectable" car, says the Ford executive.

"We hope that those who do collect it, will drive it, because that's what mustang is all about," Ford Jr said.

"This 50 year limited edition tips its hat to the cars and the people who started it all. It embodies all the emotion of the 1964 cars with a modern execution."

Ford Jr also confirmed that supercharged V8 versions of the Mustang are on the way, but didn't say when.

"Sure, any time we can put more technology into the Mustang is great," he told motoring.com.au in New York.

"Another thing we've done which is interesting, is not just a pure V8 horsepower play. We put the EcoBoost four-cylinder in the Mustang," said Ford Jr, confirming that the company will have both ends of the spectrum covered with forced induction engines, from fierce to frugal.

Is the mines faster than yours ever going to end. current mustang will do a 1/4 in 12 secs, why do they need to be faster than that.
This tribute mustang looks good but its not 'knocking my socks off' good. I really like the rear end but I'm not digging the headlights much

Ford AU boss said the Mustang due for here will be marketed at between 45 -60K AU.
Happy to put the FGF6 up against one of those.
Proud to own & drive made in OZ.

I don't think that it will be 50 - 60k

In Australia we get the last and the **** of everything, and it's all over priced. I doubt you'll see a GT500 in Oz for less than 150k.

Not meaning to be negative, but history shows we get the crap and last of it all AGES after it is initially released.
