They should be charged with crimes against humanity for being forced to drive those things.
Ive driven some bad cars in my time but the I20 certainly stands out as one of the worst.

But aren't Hyundais and Kias the best cars ever made? The Herald Sun Cars Guide certainly seems to think so!

Interesting... I've never even heard of Oportos. Maybe they need a lesson in Marketing 101.

Far from it but as a car to be used for Deliveries and driven by people who will just flog the **** out of them they are perfect.. Cheap to buy, good warranty, etc...

I made the 'mistake' of hiring an I20 a couple of years ago and to be honest it wasn't too bad for what it costs - I think about 15k on road for a new car with warranty. Quick enough around town with a manual box, good aircon and radio. Only problem was the drivers seat was coming adrift at the bottom of the backrest so it had no lumbar support and the cross bar was touching my back. But I'd rather repair a seat than a ZF gearbox... The chicken on the roof IS pretty embarrassing though. Junk food providers tend to like to humiliate their workers. A mate's GF used to work at Pizza Hut and they made her dress up in a clown suit for kids birthday parties - all for about $10 per hour. I'd rather starve :-(

Nah, the seat comes standard like that. We've got a dozen at work and they are like that from new.

Fiesta - $19,000 roughly.
i20 - $15,000 roughly. So...why would Red Rooster buy Fords? People...especially businesses...are badge blind these days as a vast majority. Whoever gives the best deal gets the sale. Do you expect them to buy XR6's or something...? |

I bought an i20 15 months ago , $15,500 drive away, local dealer couldn't get close with a Fiesta on price. No problems so far. Nothing has stopped working, developed a squeak or rattle etc. NO seat problem that keeps getting mentioned ,here. Averages 7l per 100km . Fixed price servicing $235 Fiesta $325. Very pleased , surprised at how the i20 has run. i20 has been replaced by the Accent

My wife's little i30 diesel is still running like a champion and is now up around 125k kms. When we first bought it new, lots of people asked me about it and my standard reply was "Wait until she's done 200k and I'll tell you if it's any good or not". No problems at all so far and the car still feels rock solid after 7 1/2 years. In fact it's still on original brake pads and rotors. Oil and filters, tyres and batteries has been it as far as what I've had to throw at it. Wifey still loves her car so I'm a happy camper. Russ. |

My Mum bought an Accent in sept last year, its well built with not even a squeak or rattle, its no race car but it does everything it says on the box.
At the time of sale and delivery, the dealer made sure she knew all the service staff, they got to know her and followed up numerous times to make sure she was happy with the car. Shes barely covered 3000ks in it but after 20yrs driving Toyotas, now is a Hyundai brand ambassador to whoever will listen. That's how you build a successful car brand......

Well I had one of those cheap throwaway Pregio vans.It died of a blown head gasket at 410,000kms.Unfortunatly very few Falcons or Comodores would last any longer.Maybe it lasted so long because I changed the oil with whatever was cheap at the time and did it at max 10,000 intervals.Other than that it got new front brake pads at 260,000 couple of alternator rebuilds 3 batteries and 1 pr of started solenoid contacts.

Some kind soul made a habit of regularly stealing the plastic "S" off their outlet at the corner of South Rd and Hampton St a few years back. (The sign's gone now from the side car-park wall.)
