"The Falcon is built here by Ford Australia. Models currently on the new-car market include the sedan and 4x4"
It's factual too!! (or maybe they are getting Drhu's FAWD mixed up with a factory 4X4)

I think having an average price over a number of models/years is meaningless.
I did find however that the charts at the bottom of the page contained better information. For example. I will be putting my 2007 Falcon Ghia (150,000kms) on the market soon and I am tossing up what price to ask - I am thinking around just under $9,000. $8,900 seems much cheaper than $9,000 Maybe I'll get 8 or high 7s. The chart shows the average price is $7,549 Given that this is an average, it seems pretty well on the money, if you will excuse the pun. |

Ford Fpv' Competition
The only real competition for the Ford FPV division is Holden HPV. Apparently the only competition to FPV is Herpes. Edit: Should have refreshed the page before commenting. |

I love this. I am getting all my car reviews from Gumtree from now on.
Quote:
That reviews was under Range Rover not Range Rover Sport. I believe proper Range Rovers chassis are not based off the Discovery. And Grand Cherokee's are bad because they don't offer a diesel. I believe every GC since the early 2000's has offered diesel. |

Haha . If gumtree wrote an article about Subaru, I wonder if they would mention the Subaru WRX STD edition

A quick browse of gumtree has me convinced somebody has dumped a load of mind-altering drugs into Perth's water supply.
I guess that's the problem when you offer something free, people can't act normally or responsibly. You've now got every wally and their dog scratching around behind their shed for bits of rusted crap they can post on Gumtree for $500 "Firm, no time wasters"

Have you had a less-than-satisfactory experience buying or selling there? Would you not agree that it's better to purchase a used vehicle from a Gumtree seller than one from a used car lot, and that its pricing is far more negotiable and without the built-in overhead costs of dealers?

Probably derived its name from the free listing attracting a higher share of freebie advertisers over time, is all. |

Puts simply, for every genuine seller, there is at least an equal number of crooks and scammers. Plus around a 10:1 ratio of garbage ads, from people who either have no clue, or are only advertising their p&j to satisfy her indoors, or are just trying their luck listing random pieces of crap they found laying around. I reckon if you just charged people $1 a month for each ad, the volume would drop by 90%, and it would be much easier to navigate. The wider problem with something like gumtree, is that people incorrectly see it as some kind of market barometer, not realising their rationale is fundamentally flawed. If you could see a record of what similar items had actually sold for (as you can to some extent on eBay, and on real estate sites) it would work. But by definition all you see is the asking price of unsold items. Quote:
Despite most car salesmen being horses a___s, dealers are in the business to sell cars. They know what a car is worth in the market and price accordingly. And when they get it wrong and the car is hard to shift, they lower the price to meet the market. When was the last time you saw a dealer write in an ad "I'm not going any lower, if the car doesn't sell I will just de-register it and park it in my shed"? Your average gumtree wally has no flaming idea what their car is really worth. They see a dealer with an advertised price of $X, and price theirs the same "firm, no time wasters" completely ignoring that the dealers car maybe fully detailed, workshop tested, must guarantee a clear title, pass roadworthy, carries a statutory warranty, and probably still includes some negotiating room. Also, dealers know that after-market additions add literally nothing to the value of a car. Yet old mate on gumtree thinks adding a $500 muffler has increased his value by $1,000.
