Default Transmission question

righto guys the auto in my EL I6 apparently is on its way out, i need a new one, fluid was black and full of metal shavings, copper looking. I wanted to know if i got a transmission from a V8 EL if that would be stronger and bolt straight in, or is the trans in the 6 same as the 8??

v8 tranny are diff from the 6's, from memory there would be a fair bit of modding needed to get it to fit in

Metal shavings, could be brass or something from the trannie cooler in the radiator breaking up??

Theres one in the side of the radiator, EL's have em standard I think? Have a look, you'll see a steel tube at the top right hand side of the radiator, thats one of the auto cooler lines.
