Default EL Ghia

Hi guys/girls,

I just bought my self a '97 EL Ghia off e-bay, 220,000k's, one owner, full service history, with $2500 just spent recently on servicing, auto trans repairs and brakes.

I bought it with a bit of damage, it has been sideways into a gutter and damaged 2 wheels, and broken the watts linkage bracket off the diff plate.

It has a deep scratch in the l/h quarter panel too, but other than that it looks to be good.

I rekoned that $1925 was a fair price to pay ? and it should be a good car when fixed, i still rekon they are a real nice car, almost 10 years later.

If anyone has a couple of EL Ghia wheels and a diff backing plate, or maybe a complete diff housing PM me.

check that its not in the written off vehicle register and that it has a clean record, body damage is fixable, but its useless if the car can't be rego'd

That is perhaps the deepest "deep scratch" I have ever seen lol. Some people just hate to say it how it is hey? Still a real good buy though - looks otherwise quite clean.

It ran out of rego about 8 weeks ago, the owners didnt even bother getting a quote to fix it as they bought a new car the week before the EL was stacked.

They drove it home as it hit the gutter around the corner from their house.
I spoke to the guy selling it on their behalf, and he said there was stuff all damage on it....and they were mad not to fix it.

It was reversed into the tray of a truck and gouged it.

A mate of mine is going to fix it, said it will be a piece of pi$$ to fix, still a cheap car imo.
