firstly can you tell us how old you are and give us some background on yourself so we can make an informed decision?

Its best to make a call like this based on the kind of person you actually are rather than taking a stab in the dark! :voldar02:

thats cool.
The best small cars I recommend to give the holdens a go would be: TX3 - AWD version TX5 telstar turbo TC-TD Cortina with worked 250 crossflow worked RS2000 escort (if you can find one) If you can afford one, a Sierra is kick a55. Thats the best small cars I can think off the top of my head.

They have awd and the power is pretty much to your maxumim budget. There's is a fair few aftermarket parts too. The hardest part is finding one in good condition for the right price. Theres a guy on these forums who has a black one that is killer with simmons wheels. He's getting about 600bhp IIRC.

The next best option in my opinion is a cortina with a engine from an XE-XF in it. I have a mate who had a TC cortina, 250ci 6cyl, 4sp man., ballanced bottom end, very mild cam, redline intake manifold, 350 holley, extractors, 2.25" exhaust, and he was smoking some 5ltr torana's and commodores with ease. I saw him do this numerous times. Plus the parts are dirt cheap. You can buy second hand engines for about $150 from the wreckers if you kill one and swap parts over. They are killer motors as they have heaps of torque. The other option if you are dead keen on a 4cyl is to work that as best you until you can afford to do the 6 cyl. I have seen some 4cyl cortys get up and boogie if you know how to work them right.

A worked 4cyl will use about the same petrol as a 6. Get a Falcon!

I'll probably get hammered for this, but something like a 2l turbo Silvia/180sx manual can be made to do mid 13s with only light bolt ons such as filter, exhaust and boost.
