If I remember correctly, they don't exactly fit properly either. The design is wrong.

But umm, yeh, it's good for cold air.

As long as there is an airbox, no.

Put a pod in the original airbox on the weekend, took 30mins just some extra intake piping and filing the hole at the back of the airbox bigger, better than spending $100+ on some aftermarket one that does the same thing!

This is entireley different. This is a sequential scoop, that catches the cold air from outside the bonnet, and forces it into the airbox.

The scoop did fit ok, was a bit of a fiddle but worked out ok in the end. Not sure about the air box though!

Okay so its $100 just for the Scoop?

And extra for the air box lid?

Have I got that right?

And with regards to painting, thats a given, pretty sure he wouldnt have a matched sccop for every colour e-series out there............

Yep 100 just for the scoop. Cant remember what he quoted for the air box lid.

Didnt really have any problems with light rain, when it rains heavy the car is under the carport or we put a towel or something over the vent. If youre just after looks, you can keep the original tickford vent backing plate thingy on as the whole for the vent doesnt line up and covers most of the whole in the airbox. If you want it for cold air induction, you need to modify the vent backing plate to have a bigger hole. Hope that makes sense!

Bringing up an old post.
I wonder if this guy is still making them. If i wanted it just for looks, and i didn't run it through to the airbox i shouldn't have a problem with the rain no?

I'll be seeing Radek tommorrow, he had stopped making these some time ago - started a family, so had no time. The originals, which I had, he refined and the form and shape are now much better. If you knew how much work went into these then the cost is more than fair.
Originally these had been designed as a cosmetic add-on scoop but he later developed the matching airbox which could take a pod filter within. This same setup was what was used on the concept car known as the 'Sequential Falcon' by Ford and Roman Autotek. He was also giving people the option of providing a paint code and he would pre-finish the items in your desired colour - no guarantees of a match though as Ford paints do have variations in them. At the last stage he also developed a matching mirrored scoop for the driver's side vent on the EF/ELs.
For those of you who question the operation, he did also do extensive testing on both intake temps and the ram effect. I'll chase these figures up for those interested but from memory they were very very good. As far as legalities, the filter was still contained within the airbox and nsw rta had indicated to him that in priciple, they had no issues with the product - it however, never went as far as ADRs.
As for rain, he ran the unit on his own eb xr6 for about 7 years, and believe me that car went through everything from torrential rain to heavy snow - never had an issue and I will say he was a very 'unsympathetic' driver - even used the car in his rally training on some very rough dusty roads.

Great product but I believe that at this stage, it's probably not available - will let you know.

ok, at this stage he is not interested and far to busy. I've just emailed him that there are 10 potential interests. He may reconsider but did also mention to me that he would either sell the moulds or commission a 3rd party to make them for him. Obviously quality/$ will need to be assessed b4 he goes ahead with this arrangment.
