Just wondering if anyone here owns an EF 5ltr on LPG and what kind of economy they get out of them?
Im looking at buying a fairmont v8, but as i drive 600k's a week for work it would be converted, otherwise i would go broke in a week!. So yeah just seeing how these cars go on LPG and if the economy is good Cheers Lee

And there's plenty of E-Series I6's that get 250 to a tank too.
The biggest thing that effects fuel economy in E-Series V8's is the right foot. If you drive economically it will use similar amounts of fuel to an I6 in similar condition. They have decent economy on the open road if you keep a steady speed below 130, I've had 700km from 65L quite a few times in my EF. I've only driven one V8 on gas, an ED, and it was pretty average, economy on LPG was around 350km for 68L on the highway.

I have an AU 5.0 litre, I don't think the engines changed that much, and I regularly get 420 km or better out of 70 litres. I don't drive it hard and never usually over 3000 revs.
Best ever economy was 501 km's out of 70 litres. |

Hey Harro I just put my EL 5L on gas last week. I'm managing a pretty decent 350km from about 68L of LPG going from Mooroolbark (I noticed you live here too) to the City for work. I'm yet to test it on the highway but I reckon 500km or so wouldn't be out of the question.
On petrol I think it was doing about 350-400 to a tank and did 550km on the highway. That's with a very steady right foot to avoid pinging, which the motor tends to do a lot on petrol. At the mo, LPG is pretty steady on 39.9c/L as well, so a full tank is about $26 or so. Laughin. Sundeep |

Hi Harro, our EF on premium has averaged 12.5ltr/100km (mostly city driving for the last year or so). Get's under 10 on a highway trip. Hope this helps as a starting reference.
