I haven't been around since Friday night because my beloved ED was rear-ended by a P plater in a damn VN! What the hell are the odds of that??? Anyway, the ED's in the repairers as we speak and I'm occassionally leaving bed when I need more panadeine forte. I was doing 60 in a 60 zone and the little mofo was doing 100 & just ran up my ***. I got into a bit of a spin and the front end clipped a school crossing sign.
Damage doesn't look too major but I'm a bit worried coz the car's gone to an insurer approved workshop (ie, they'll do a cheaper job for the insurance company). I was going to head up to AIR on the weekend but the little Commy punk saw the end of that dream.

The biggest suprise of all...... He didn't have insurance.

Hardly a surprise in my eyes. People who don't drive with at least Third Party Property insurance don't deserve to even drive on the road.

This topic makes me real mad, so this is all I'm saying.

A bit of whiplash, tore my shoulder tendons and a bruise to my right temple where my head connected with the window. Shame there's not a bruise on my forehead from headbutting the little shit.

EDIT: not stating that all holden drivers are bad, there are bad drivers in all makes and models. just holdens stand out more coz there are heaps of them on the roads and are easily indentafied, same as there are bad young drivers and bad older drivers and the young drivers stand out more due to the red peice of plastic we must display....

actually having a towbar and ball on can sometimes make the damage WORSE on your car than if you didnt have one. ever seen cars that have been hit from behind that has bent the whole back half of the car down to the ground, bending all the floor, roof and chassis? notice they have towbars on them?
at least without a tow bar the impact is usually just a pushed in boot area, much easier to repair and less likely to be written off altogether.

I have seen cars like that, an XB coupe that had the rear bent up to the rear windows and the tow bar brace vertical.

But I doubt a car doing 100 running up the back of a car doing 60 would cause that.

Cheers for the replies and well wishes! I do have a tow bar, and yes, it's another VN off the road coz his car was TOTALLED!! I spoke to the cops the other night and they said they are pursuing a maximum conviction with loss of licence because they estimate he was doing at least 40kms above the posted limit. So hopefully one less ****er on the roads and definately one less VN on the roads!
I'm going to speak to a lawyer today about the best course of action to take. I'm not interested in making heaps of money out of this, my insurance is covering my medical bills and loss of income, I just want the little shit to think twice before he ever attempts to get behind the wheel of a car again.

Its not the pain killers mate, it the day time TV i gaurentee it.

This sucks mate, really im not too worried about your car his car or him, as long as you are still functioning thats all that matters. On a lighter note, good to see the cops are going to go through with this incident. A friend was rear ended at the lights by somone doing 30kmh over the speed limit (going by tyre marks), in that instance the offending driver (p plates and in a VP) got off with a caution.

Regarding the tow bar in some cases it can cause your car to be worse off than it would have been, however its allways nice to see a holed radiator, punched timing chain and busted block from iditos that do this.
