ey guys,
I've got a Compaq NX9030 laptop and i suspect the battery has **** itself (reports fully charged but laptop wont run on it, only mains..) and rather than blow $80 on a battery and possibly find its not the problem i'd rather try and test it with someone elses. This would be a case of insert battery.. press power button.. laptop either turns on or doesnt.. remove battery - fini. this is the laptop it takes: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Battery-for-H...QQcmdZViewItem (that ebay listing also has a list of laptops that use that battery..) Now i'm in Beaumaris so south eastern suburbs of melbourne would be great... icon_smile.gif But yeah, if anyone could do me a favour and let me use their laptop battery for 5min it would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks ! |

Had a similar sort of thing with my NEC laptop. Wouldn't turn on using the battery, only mains. In the end, it packed it in and cost me close to $1,000 to get it fixed as I had to replace the mainboard on it. The battery was fine, and still is.
Maybe putting a multimeter to it might tell you whether or not the battery is stuffed.
