Default ******** hoons nearly killed my mates!

last night at about 10:30pm my mates were driving down a street tha connects onto a mainroad. Anyway they were cruising at about 70km I think they might have been abit over the speed limit, I don't know the full details. Apparently they saw 2 cars further down the street drag racing at about 150km + and not slowing down. It was wet and my mate couldn't slam the breaks. He was slowing down but the cars oncoming were still racing with no intent of braking. about 20metres away my mate swerved onto the footpath and thankfully missed the street lights. His car is stuffed now and he hasn't got insurance but I'm just happy that they were safe because they could have seriouly been injured or even worse, killed!

I can't believe people would drag in little streets that connect to highways and especially in the wet aswell. people could have been killed because of these hoons. If people want to drag they should go where it's legal

Man that is ludicrous. Glad your mates are ok. Cars can be replaced or repaired.
These people must have a death wish. Dragging at that speed on wet road. Should be locked up

Ford Boy i'm happy to hear that your mates got out of that one unscathed, but the ********* were'nt "DRAG RACING" they were "STREET RACING ILLEGALLY". I only point that out in the interest of not having you turn in to a narrow minded media or politician type.

lol sorry street racing. No, I'd never be narrow minded media or politician type, I love powerful cars. I just think they should be thrashed on the track and not on the streets. I admit I may not be the safest driver but i think after that I don't want to tempt fate. It only takes a spilt second and you and your car could be crushed or you may kill an innocent person.

What disgusts me the most is the fact that the people street racing didn't slow or move out of the way from my mates car.

This bad news this kind of stuff. We just had a silly kid(18) crash into our Territory on an unregistered mini bike. No helmet and no insurance... No clue.

Whilst I feel for your mate driving without insurance is pretty silly. If you cant afford to insure your car then you cant afford to drive it. One silly mistake can ruin your finances for years.

it's only a cheap car but I guess it should have had insurance. it needs new wheels and axile I think. It may not be a write off but it will cost some money to fix.

It may be a cheap car... And I hope he had the smarts to have at least 3rd Party property insurance.

Even a cheap car can cause expensive damage. Take an extream case his car crashes into a muti million dollar property and catches fire. And the property burns down. He can declare himself a bankrupt. But it will take years to recover from it.

The kid...

I will leave that to the insurance company. It looks like it will be a no fault claim for us anyway so no excess

Its a karma thing... The kid who was ridding the mini bike has been a problem around the place for a while. A few weeks ago he rode past my place giving me the finger. And no I wasnt driving the Territory when it hit him.

That good, no excess. My dad had to pay $450 when my mums car got keyed.

P.s I thought it was excess but wasn't sure because access sounds alright too lol

If your not at fault and the insurance company can find someone to blame then you should not need to pay an excess...

I dont suppose they caught the person who keyed the car?
