Hey guys,
On an automotive-related note, what do you wear on your feet through the day or just while driving? I used to wear walking boots, one day I decided to wear some old trainers, been wearing them ever since (more feedback, lighter, less restrictive, smaller). Not quite as comfortable for walking all day though... |

I wear my work boots most of the time. There a bit restrictive and uncomfortable while driving coz there a size 13 and they do get in the way a bit.
Now ive just started taking a second pair of shoes along with me. (those being my skate shoes) As they are a whole lot better then work boots to drive in. |

I've got apair of 'well worn' sneakers...nice and bendy, very thin sole.
Also got another pair of shoes from puma just recently that are extremely flexible with a very thin sole on them. Also, sometimes on a long trip i've got a favourite pair of driving pants too...my worst looking trackies. |

I hate driving in boots, its murder with the twitchy pedals on an AU1. I am always wearing converse allstars anyway. cons skateshoes are the best for driving, flexible and soft mmmmm like a woman. Errr but not too soft!

Work boots or normal shoes. But I did buy a pair of surf sandals this summer, and they are reasonably wide, and when I wear them driving the AUI, I find the side of the sandal gets caught on the side wall carpet when I put my foot on the accelerator. :

I will usually drive in whatever dhoes I'm wearing, and in the XD I even drove in knee-high lace-up platform boots.
I can't do that in the XR6 due to it being a manual and the pedals much closer together. I have a pair of shoes I can slip on to drive in and then I'll change them once I get to where I'm going if I need to. I have friends that have one only "driving shoe" (converse) in the car floating around all the time. I can see the point to that, but it looks messy, and then you have the two shoes separated....

if i drive the manual i go barefoot all the time, if i drive auto then i'll wear sneakers or work shoes (when i have to work :P), if i wear thongs then i just slip them off anyway cause they are annoying as all hell.

It catches on the clutch and makes me stall it if I don't have it pushed forward halfway in the footwell.

Wow, work boots seem pretty popular. I guess the soles on many of them are bendy but hard enough to make good race boots :P

I wear the work boots from when I leave to go to work, ride the bike for 30-40 mins (that's where you have to know where the gear lever sits) get to work, jump in the BA... long since learned to avoid the side of the sole hitting the brake pedal. Then back on the bike for the home comute.
I'm glad my boots are comfortable! |

When I’m working I have to wear steel capped safety boots, and when no one can see me I slip on my stilettos.
Cheers, Danny Please note: for people with no sense of humour, I’m only joking about the high heels.

Either barefoot or socks for me - I can't stand wearing shoes while driving - my girlfriend wears heels when she drives - no wonder I sometimes have a coronary when she drives!

Barefoot usually, as most times I wear sandles (ok glorified slazenger thongs)
I just kick them off and drive. However I can usually drive with boots or shoes except my black leather colorado's. They are just too darned broad and they seem to be wider than the gap between the large brake pedal and the accelerator.

I just bought some really thin soled Addidas runners for driving in. They are called tai kwon do. They are fantastic to drive in as you can feel the pedals like bare foot without the risks.
I used to drive bare foot some of the time, but slipped one time and kicked the metal brake pedal and cut my foot rater badly. I always wear shoes now. Steven

In Qld barefoot is illegal... In Summer just my thongs
Winter just whatever footwear I have on at the time. I don't really have a preference or thought about it before
