well we got EPA with out 2.5'' exhaust but to cut long story short on the rear muffler where it connects to the tail pipe is that welded at or does it just slide out when i unbalt it from the cat. any elp appreciated.

Depends on the system. Some slide in with flange joint, some are welded. Why not just have a look and work it out?

ive had a look it is not welded but its got some sort of white stuff inbetween the piping. will that just slide off or not. as far as i know its a red back system.

If it's a redback, then it should slide off - mine does. The white stuff is muffler putty.
